Whoops I disappeared again! Here’s some updates!
I’m going to try and blog a bit more often on here, I like it better than doing the Twitter.
Video Update
In my last blog I mentioned that I’m working on a really Big Video, and that has not changed. Since that blog I’ve been working on it almost nonstop, though I’ve had to slow down the past few days because apparently if you get sick and don’t rest, illnesses can actually end up getting worse? Ridiculous. But having to take a little break to recover has also made me realize that it’s possible that the Big Video won’t be done in time to be released this month.
Once I’m back on my feet the plan is to produce a regular-length video as a kind of in-between. I’ve got a very fun topic picked out, I just need to feel a bit better before I start filming. Being sick hasn’t been fun, but I’ve been enjoying the mental break from the Big Video. It’s been a lot of focusing on one very specific topic, and it can get a little exhausting despite how fun it’s been.
I’m really hoping it ends up being worth the wait! This is the first time I’ve really taken a chance with investing so much time into one video, and I don’t have any clue how it’ll go over. Hopefully I can have a different video out some time next week, though, that’d be ideal. I know I haven’t been putting videos out as often as I used to, like back in the retro game review days, but I’m actually really happy with the quality of my content recently. Excited to be taking more chances, and I’m also really eager to get back to Mystery Tapes and some other fun formats.

Stream Update
Will I ever finish Shenmue III? Yes. Yes I will.
The number one reason I haven’t streamed recently is because of how focused I’ve been on this Big Video that I’m starting to get really frustrated with not being able to name. I love keeping things surprises, but also I love spilling the beans. It’s a rough life.
Anyway, I’ve just been working away at this video and haven’t had the time to stream. Once I get this smaller video done I’ll get back online!
Schmlocial Schmedia
Man I have been pulling away from Twitter and it’s been… weird. Good, but weird. I don’t think I’ve distanced myself from the internet like this in quite some time, and it’s been mostly refreshing but a little lonely. I miss connecting with the people of the net as much as I used to, but I’ve definitely realized how much time has been wasted scrolling through feeds and worrying about comments when I could have been working on something of value. Taking a break has also made it easier for me to take my time on this Big Video, and to not stress out so much about having no new videos for a little while. I don’t feel pressured to upload a smaller video as an in-between, I actually want to do it for fun, which is a good feeling!
I’m not in a rush to get back to being active on Twitter aside from video/stream announcements, so if I’m quiet over there don’t worry – I’m probably not dead. I want to barf my thoughts up on this website more often, even if it’s just random rambles or side project updates. I’ve been learning how to do 3D modelling in Blender, lately, maybe I can show off some of that some time.
The End of the Post
I feel like I should have more to say since I’ve been quiet for about a month now, but I’ve seriously just been working on The Big Video and getting sick. I’ve pretty much only left the house to take out the trash since the quarantine started, so… it’s just been me and Adobe Premiere, basically. And MJ, she’s good too. I’ll try to include a picture of her next time.
If you have anything you’d like me to write about, let me know! I should also find a way for people to submit questions on here so I can do some Q&A like I did on Tumblr, or maybe just get some good blogging topics or something.

Thanks for the update Ian! I knew you were making a very long video, so I completely understand. I’m sorry to hear you got sick though. I hope you get better soon. I’m very excited for your upcoming videos and it’ll be great to see you on Twitch again. Sometimes taking a social media break is needed, so I’m glad you’re taking advantage of that. I definitely like updates more on this site than on Twitter, but that’s just me. Take care of yourself and say hi to MJ for me!

Hey Ian, glad to hear from you. It is surprisingly fresh to visit someones homepage for updates on stuff. I can not remember the last time I did this. I wish more creators would do the same. Personally I stopped using Twitter at the point in time the plague was hitting my country. I realized that the constant (negative and instant) consumption of news and scrolling did not benefit my well being and mental health. So I sympathize with you on that point. I wayyyy prefer this site to twitter, I’m glad you set it up. I’ve been avoiding twitter also – every time I go on I end up getting stressed out. But I’ve been worried about missing updates from creators I follow, so it’s nice to be able to check this site instead of twitter. I just got my wisdom teeth out and was able to take a few days off from work, which has been a great little vacation.
