SERVER RULES
updated: 3/6/26
!! Your brutalCraft experience is tied directly to your brutalChat experience. If you are banned from or leave the brutalChat Discord server, you will lose access to brutalCraft. Likewise, misbehavior in brutalCraft could result in a ban from brutalChat.
!! The brutalCraft server is a work in progress! Expect rule and gameplay changes as it grows and adapts to provide the best experience possible for the players. It is your responsibility to keep up-to-date with the server rules.
!! These rules are not necessarily all-inclusive, and moderation action may be taken for any reason to maintain a chill environment.
CHAT BEHAVIOR
- Treat everyone with respect (even ian)
- Do not spam.
- NSFW is not allowed.
- Keep it light, chill, & stream appropriate.
- Avoid sensitive topics like religion or politics.
- Do not overshare your personal life.
- If a conversation gets too heated or personal, drop it or take it elsewhere.
- If there’s a dispute, please try to resolve them privately before involving staff.
- It’s fine to respectfully remind someone of a rule, but do not become a backseat moderator and try to enforce rules yourself. Report the situation to brutalChat’s mc-support channel instead.
- Listen to the server’s staff. If you’re asked to drop a topic and move on, please do so.
- In general, just use common sense. If you’re unsure if something is allowed, perhaps it’s just best not to say it.
IN-GAME BEHAVIOR
- No Griefing
- Do not touch player-made builds without permission. This server uses a land claim system to protect players’ creations, but not all builds will end up inside a protected land claim – that does not mean you can destroy or edit them without permission.
- Don’t kill other people’s animals, tamed or otherwise.
- No Cheating
- Do not use client-side mods that affect gameplay (X-Ray, Speed Hacks, Autoclickers, etc.)
- No item/block duplicators.
- PVP is opt-in.
- Use /pvp to toggle your PVP combat status.
- Do not build player killing traps.
- Do not cause lag intentionally.
- Do not hoard limited resources.
- When mass harvesting above-ground resources, please leave the area looking nice when you’re finished. Terraform the area a bit so it’s not a flat wasteland, re-plant trees, that kind of thing.
BUILDING RULES
- Account for style, not just function.
- Try to make your builds appealing to the eye. Bridges, pathways, and even farming contraptions shouldn’t be eyesores, especially if they’re prominently seen on the server.
- Some things will understandably be ugly mid-build, and that’s fine.
- Don’t make disruptive builds.
- Don’t block rivers – bridges should be high enough to let boats pass under.
- Don’t build large floating pathways that stretch across the map.
- Any above-ground path or railway must be built with high quality materials and have supports that anchor it to the ground. Again, please try to account for style and not just function – it should be pleasing to look at.
- Please also take into account the people you’re building near, and if the pathway will be disrupting any vantage points.
- If you plan on building something particularly sprawling, it might be a good idea to discuss the project in chat before commencing the build.
LAND CLAIM RULES
- Do not place claims in obstructive places.
- Try not to block others’ pathways or railways.
- Try not to encroach on other players.
- Do not encroach Administrator claims.
- Do not claim land if you have no plans to actually use it.
- Don’t claim land just because you think you might use it some time down the line.
- Don’t claim land just so someone else can’t have it.
- Don’t claim land just to try and sell it.
- Only claim land that you plan to build on, basically.
NICKNAME RULES
- Please use your Twitch/Discord name so that we know who you are!
- Do not break any chat rules (no NSFW, politics, etc)
- Do not impersonate other players.
- No magic text.
- No number/symbol only names.
