Earlier this year my friend unico asked me to provide music for a couple of game projects that she was working on, and time has finally come for the games’ release(s)! Both are for Windows machines and are free to play. I’ll be releasing the music separately in the next week or so on moose2, soundcloud, and maaaaaybe spotify if I’m feeling really fancy.
First up is the in-season Halloween minigame Sesame’s Haunting, where you take control of a cat named Sesame who needs to brew potions to rid her home of a poltergeist. It’s a short, cute adventure with two different routes and endings set in a cozy witch’s cabin in the woods. I composed a title theme and a couple of background tracks for this one.
Study Time, Aya! is an interactive desktop buddy designed to be your work or study partner. Earn points as you study along with Aya, then use those points to buy her gifts. She’s got tons of different outfits, moods, and dialogues, and even recognizes major US holidays! Aya also has a clock radio that plays through a 13 track OST composed by yours truly. It’s a mix of older compositions of mine that have been updated and re-mastered, along with brand new never before heard musics!
It was such a cool opportunity to make music for a couple of interactive experiences from an artist that I super respect, and I definitely learned a lot in the process. I still feel like a novice when it comes to music so it’s a bit intimidating to set the songs free into the world, but this absolutely helped me take a few steps forward with my music-making and I’m really proud of my work! I hope you guys enjoy the games and musics, and be sure to stay tuned for the soundtrack/album’s full release here in a little while! Also, if you do end up downloading and enjoying these games, please consider leaving unico a comment on the itch pages! A lot of hard work went into these.
