Honestly the best tip I can give you is to look into how to care for your specific kind of hair. There's a lot of different types and they all need something different! My hair started looking a lot better when I stopped brushing it out so often and started putting some argan oil in it.
Other than that though I kind of just let it do it's own thing for the most part.
