Getting nostalgic thinking about 2017-2018 when I used to rewatch Televoid constantly. Just wanted you to know how special that series is to me!

would u ever put ur music onto spotify? love soundcloud but my data loving ass would love to track it on spotify too.
Admin Reply by: ian
maybe some day, but no immediate plans. i really want to improve my music a bit more before i post it on wider platforms.
most of my soundcloud tracks are downloadable, so you could DL them and then add them as local files onto your spotify if you want to save some data!

hi ian! been watching you for 9 years now just about and your videos inspire me all of the time! im doing what i love going to art school, but i had a question for you, if you don't mind me asking and no pressure on responding either!

when it comes to your creative career, have you ever thought that you wish you started earlier or that you're not good enough? most of my fellow students have been drawing and designing for all of their lives and heres me being a theme park designer with no prior experience.. so i guess what im trying to say is.. what keeps you going and constantly drives you to do better?
Admin Reply by: ian
i've thought similar things, for sure. i'd wager that most creative people have a train of discouraging thought that they're prone to, whether it's not starting early enough, not being good enough, or just being uncertain with their work. when i'm feeling discouraged, it's always been helpful to revisit something inspiring. going back and looking at the things that got you excited about creating in the first place can be really motivating.

strangely, i find that sometimes those thoughts of doubt can be motivating as well. if i don't feel my work is good enough then i'll usually sulk for a while, but i'll eventually feel motivated to find a way to make my work better to challenge that doubt. if i get down about not having the kind of skills or resources that someone else has, i sulk, but then i feel motivated to refine the skills that i do have, or to push the limits of the resources at my disposal.

i think that being concerned about things like this is a sign of having a creative spirit. the most important thing to do is just keep trying, keep working at it. you'll get there.

Hey Ian, I spent half my time growing up in Oklahoma, and the other half in Washington state. I think I can definitely relate to the whole Washington State Texas thing from a cultural aspect. Anyway I live/work in Yakima and Drill Seattle as a Coast Guard reservist.

Just curious if you take video requests. Perhaps paid video requests. Such as an old tv series review, like Nickelodeon Hey Dude. Thanks

in over a decade of youtubing i dont think anyone has ever asked to pay for me to cover something in a video that wasn't a brand deal, so this is a first!
i don't think that's a road i want to go down right now, but i'll consider your suggestion for free. thanks!

Howdy, Ian. I was chatting with a friend who lives in japan and she was stating how she would go to this thing called Stamp Rally. It's an event where multiple stores will have hidden stamps that she can find/collect. It immediately reminded me of Chobu-chan from Shenmu. Maybe a future idea where recreate the real-life shenmu experience collecting stamps in Japan (almost like chobuchan)

Hey Ian, came across your YouTube channel only a couple nights ago and immediately resonated with your sense of humor, absurd (in a good way) attention to detail in editing and visual/audio nuances, and your perfect aesthetic of retro and nostalgic (I was born in 1992) meets liminal space meets modern satire--in my humble opinion it's so raw yet refined, and truly is an art form of yours that I'm so grateful you're sharing with the world. Thank you for the continued laughs and for creating a safe space where I can relate to some core memories and fondness of my own.

Heyo, this website is the greatest. Just felt like that was needed. Loved your videos since I was in my tweens with poorly restricted internet access. Keep it up!

Hi Ian !! I'm Jennifer from Madrid, Spain !

I only write to tell you that I have to do a travel to London for work, I'm terrible with my english and you're helping me big time with it !! In all your videos you have a crystal clear and smooth pronunciation, and I listen you for hours when I do my artwork. Also I love your humor and your way of editing your videos always make me smile !

And nothing, only say thanks, and show you that you are helping people in ways may be you never thought about :3 <3

Love everything you do Ian, catching up on the vods has been my go-to for winding down or to enjoy while working on art and have long owed you a big thank you! If you had a puppet friend ala MST3K, what would it look like?
Admin Reply by: ian
unfortunately it would probably be Gerbert

Hi Brutalmoose! Just wanted to plop on over to say I love your content.

Have you ever considered doing a video on old fast food training videos (like the old subway training video)? I think that would be fun.
