Project Updates & September Stream Schedule

Hey there!

Been quiet for a little while, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been lazy!

Lately I’ve been putting some distance between myself and the internet, which has really let me focus on my creative projects a lot better. I’m a little stressed about having not uploaded a video in so long, but other than that logging off social networks has been really good for me. I’m really trying to focus on being creative for creativity’s sake alone, and ignoring the internet clout-chasing aspect of it all. I don’t want to make stuff just for views, I want to make stuff because I think it’s rad. I think I’m almost there.

The one thing I do miss about socials is the interaction. It really does feel like you disappear completely when you haven’t posted in a week or so, it’s really freaky. Haven’t been on Twitter in a couple months and it feels like I fell off the earth. I thought about using Twitter again just to post little updates, but even just thinking about it made me freak out a little bit so I think I should keep my distance for a while longer.

Anyway, here’s some updates on my current creative efforts:

I am currently in the middle of producing 2 different videos. There’s the “Big Video” that I mentioned in a previous YouTube upload as well as in various Twitch streams lately, and then there’s what I’ll refer to as the “Cool Video”.

It’s hard to give a percentage of completion for Big Video, but I can give some updates. The video itself is divided into 15 sections. The entire script is complete, and half of it is filmed. 4 segments are completely finished. I still have a lot to do, but I’m hopeful that the second half of the project will be easier to complete to than the first. This is where I’m currently focusing the majority of my efforts, and I’m really hoping I can get it done this month, but I can’t guarantee that just yet. I’m still not ready to reveal the subject of this video, but I will say that it’s definitely the stupidest thing I’ve ever attempted, and I’ll never do it again. There’s just no way all of this effort will be worth it, the but I’m in too deep to let myself quit at this point. When combined, the 4 completed segments run over 2 hours, so I’m currently projecting this video at having at least 6 hours of runtime. But we’ll see, it’s still very much up in the air.

As for the Cool Video, I recently finished the script for this one. I’m really not sure how quickly this one is going to come together, but for now it’s on standby as I work on Big Video.

I’m feeling really motivated with videos lately, which is nice! I think pulling away for a bit was the right move, it really let me view the production process in a different light. I’m hopeful that once the Big Video is done, I’ll be back to uploading more regularly. There are some series of mine that I’m eager to revisit.

Since I’m putting my foot on the gas in regards to videos, I’m also pumping the breaks on my stream schedule for September. Instead of doing Wednesdays and Saturdays like I have been doing, I’m just going to be streaming on Wednesdays during September. I’ll try to sneak some additional streams in there somewhere, but I really want to focus on videos this month. My lack of uploads is starting to weigh on me, and I really want to lift that weight before October so that I can relax and stream some scary games. So that’s the plan!

I’m still waaaay way early on this, like probably too early to even give updates on it. But I do occasionally talk about it on stream, so a brief update seems justified. I’m currently still working in Blender, putting together an environment that I want to eventually put in Unity to make explorable. I’d love to say that I’m making a game, but at this stage I still feel like I’m mostly just learning the software. Next hurdle is learning Unity, and I have no idea when I’ll start that.

I’m still working on music! I actually work on music a lot while working on other projects, I’ll just hop over into FL Studio and mess around a bit. Right now I’m not finishing a lot of tracks, which is why I haven’t posted a ton. My goal right now is to learn how to make atmospheric music to hopefully use in my Blender/Unity project eventually.

Haven’t been drawing very much lately, too focused on other things.

The Big Video sounds ambitious as hell. 6 hours of edited content is pretty wild, looking forward to it! Been putting a lot more time into my own creative projects as well recently, so this post is pretty motivating.

(Also looking forward to spooktober)

Sean Stevens

Good luck, Man! Getting away from everything sounds like it’s been helpful, so take your time!! We’ll be here.

Looking forward to all six hours!

Im thrilled and excited quite frankly tickled! can’t wait!!

I really like getting all these creative updates. It is nice to see what you’re working on and getting kind of a timeline of things to come. I’m also trying to avoid social media to work on personal projects too. It saves so much more time when you’re not just scrolling through endless pages of “content”. Can’t wait for the BIG video. Thanks for the update Ian! 🙂

I’m always a fan of hearing what you’re up to and I’m glad things are going well for you. Such a long video sounds preeetty hype!

Sounds like you’re doing well, and that’s great to hear! Looking forward to whatever it is this Big Video is. Hang in there!

I can’t wait for the big one; I’ll watch every minute of it!

Ian how can one person make so many things and make me like all of them I don’t understand

Dude your ambition and passion for this stuff is so inspiring. I love putting your videos on in the background while I waste away doing art- it keeps me levelheaded! Glad you’re keeping yourself grounded amidst these crazy projects you’ve got goin in- can’t wait to see what you’ve been cooking up!

lets freaking goooooooo

I love you man!

I’m excited to see what the big video is about. I might be wrong but I feel like its going to be a review of an entire TV series and you review every single episode by themself. 15 sections = 15 seasons? King of the Hill has 13 seasons so Intro to show + 13 seasons + Overall = 15? Just a guess lol. You usually do stuff more obscure so probably not KOTH though. If I’m way off i’ll still be excited though. Love the vids. Been watching a long time.

Sir Cinema

Just recently have discovered your work and I look forward to more of it. I consider myself an old soul and watching pajama sam has made me replay all of them myself recently. I’ve taking time as well of getting back into video editing now that im finished with college and find your work inspiring to share the things I love as well. Keep up the great work!

Good luck

Ian you are amazing please don’t worry about time the important thing is you being happy. Lots of love from México. ^^*

Really appreciate the updates on the videos! I think you hear it a lot from your fans, but don’t get too stressed on your video making. I think we as your fans will always be waiting for that good moose content. Been loving and tuning in to a lot of your streams, as they help me relax during COVID. Stay safe and keep doing what you’re doing!

I just took a week away from the computer (and very limited internet) while on vacation and that’s exactly what I needed. I’m feeling more refreshed, creative, and inspired! I hope that the time away from socials and streaming is doing the same for you. It’s nice to be connected, but we all need a little disconnect from time to time. Good luck on your projects! It sounds like you’re following your heart, which makes me happy. There’s plenty of content in that stream guide to keep us at bay in the meantime! 😉

Super excited for the big video! And to see you play some scary games if you still would like too in October. I’m glad you’re feeling more productive, and that the internet break has been good for you :D. I had a question though, in some of your streams you talk about a really weird movie you like that your friends won’t watch with you, what is it called? I’m interested in it. Sorry if the description is vauge.

Yes that’s it! Thank you so much, I’m going to look and see where I can watch it 😀

Can’t wait my dude, always putting in the effort for us. One of my favorite youtubers on the planet. Take your time and keep up the effort.
Also have put social media down, besides twitter for updates. Love the motivation you are giving yourself.

dang, 6 hours! better get some popcorn :p

Hey Ian!

Just saw this online, I would’ve emailed it to you, but I know you get a little backlogged there from time to time, just thought you’d be interested in this!

I thought even if you weren’t a fan of some of the newer sets of cards, the tin would be right down your alley!

Glad to hear that you have some videos coming along! I promise that nothing is stupid enough to deter us, or at least me, away. You could make a video of you quietly narrating paint dry and i’d watch it, because you have a way to take anything and make it interesting and relaxing at the same time. Can’t wait for 6 hours of content!

Keep at it man you got this! I’m looking forward to see what you can do!

Sarah Jay
